Fellowship Opportunities

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine offers six fellowships:

Emergency Medicine Fellowships

Become an EMS-accredited physician while working as an assistant medical director for Nashville Fire, flying with Vanderbilt LifeFlight, and practicing event medicine at Bridgestone Arena, Vanderbilt Athletics and NASCAR. 

Train in the challenging field of global emergency medicine (EM). Learn about global EM systems development, delivery of acute care in low resource settings, global EM education and global research. Spend three months a year abroad in Guyana and other fieldwork settings.

Train to become a leader in emergency simulation. Develop a skillset in curriculum development while working with cutting-edge equipment. Learn to apply simulation techniques to multidisciplinary teaching in low- and high-resource environments.

Master the skills of emergency ultrasound and become an expert ultrasound educator. Augment your fellowship through our partnerships with the global emergency medicine and research divisions.

Become a physician leader in clinical care quality improvement through the VA Chief Resident in Quality and Safety program. Develop expertise in QI methods, implementation science and patient safety through didactic and experiential learning.

Develop expertise in healthcare improvement research and scholarship, operational leadership, and teaching quality and safety through a partnership between the Nashville VA Medical Center and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
