Center for Emergency Care Research and Innovation

National leader in emergency care research

All emergency medicine research faculty are members of Vanderbilt University Medical Center's (VUMC) Center for Emergency Care Research and Innovation (CERI). CERI is VUMC-wide and is a national leader in emergency care research.

With a strong team of principal investigators, clinical operations staff and administrative support, CERI has over 30 active studies and boasts top enrollment in industry and federally funded studies.

The CERI team

The Center for Emergency Care Research and Innovation is comprised of faculty principal investigators, a clinical operations team and administrative staff.

Principal Investigators

CERI is home to eight Principal Investigators. Their research is focused on different disease processes and operations work.

Clinical Operations Team

This team is the "boots on the ground" for emergency medicine research. Actively enrolling in the Emergency Department almost 24/7, this team is comprised of research nurses, research coordinators and clinical trial associates.

Administrative Staff

The CERI administrative staff ensures the behind-the-scenes are running smoothly. From regulatory compliance to financial reconciliation, the CERI administrative team ensures the behind-the-scenes operations of our research is being conducted ethically and appropriately.
