National leader in emergency care research
All emergency medicine research faculty are members of Vanderbilt University Medical Center's (VUMC) Center for Emergency Care Research and Innovation (CERI). CERI is VUMC-wide and is a national leader in emergency care research.
With a strong team of principal investigators, clinical operations staff and administrative support, CERI has over 30 active studies and boasts top enrollment in industry and federally funded studies.

The CERI team
The Center for Emergency Care Research and Innovation is comprised of faculty principal investigators, a clinical operations team and administrative staff.
Principal Investigators
CERI is home to eight Principal Investigators. Their research is focused on different disease processes and operations work.
Clinical Operations Team
This team is the "boots on the ground" for emergency medicine research. Actively enrolling in the Emergency Department almost 24/7, this team is comprised of research nurses, research coordinators and clinical trial associates.
Administrative Staff
The CERI administrative staff ensures the behind-the-scenes are running smoothly. From regulatory compliance to financial reconciliation, the CERI administrative team ensures the behind-the-scenes operations of our research is being conducted ethically and appropriately.
