The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine is comprised of six divisions:

Emergency Medicine Divisions
Committed to improving the health of Middle Tennesseans and the surrounding region through high-quality prehospital care. We strive to support 911 and other emergency medical service providers through education, outreach and quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborating with international partners to extend the department's vision of discovering, teaching and delivering patient-centered emergency care to low- and middle-income countries through the development of locally sustainable emergency medical systems.
Leading and supporting our clinicians to ensure that every patient who enters our emergency department receives compassionate, outstanding, and efficient care.
Conducting research that improves the morbidity, mortality, and quality of life for patients with acute illnesses and injuries.
Providing innovative, evidence-based, experiential learning that will result in world-class patient care. The division leads regular immersive, simulation-based educational conferences for medical students and Emergency Medicine residents.
Leading Vanderbilt students, residents and faculty in point-of-care ultrasound education and research, enhancing the quality of patient care through work with both local and global impact.
