Caleb J. Bailey, MD, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt Health, where he serves as Regional Associate Quality Medical Director for Vanderbilt Health's community emergency departments. His professional interests center on physician decision-making and the cognitive and organizational factors that influence clinical judgment. His work focuses on peer review, metacognition, health systems improvement, and the implementation of evidence-based care across emergency departments.

Dr. Bailey grew up in Alpine, Utah, and earned a bachelor's degree in Russian from Brigham Young University before attending the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident for Education. After residency, he practiced emergency medicine in community hospitals along California's Central Coast before joining Vanderbilt.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Bailey and his wife stay busy with their four children. They enjoy camping, hiking, and road-tripping in their RV whenever they can get away. He enjoys the science of food and cooking, and also maintains a saltwater reef aquarium.
