Dr. Caleb Bailey

Caleb Bailey, MD, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His professional interests include metacognition and clinical decision making, and medical team utilization.  

He grew up in Alpine, Utah, and earned an undergraduate degree in Russian from Brigham Young University. Following medical school at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, he completed Emergency Medicine Residency at Loma Linda University in Southern California, including serving as the chief resident for education. He was busy in community practice across the Santa Barbara area before relocating to Tennessee.  

Outside of medicine, Dr. Bailey and his wife stay busy with their four children. They go camping, hiking, or road trip in their RV whenever they can get away. He loves the science of food and cooking, and also keeps a saltwater reef aquarium. He is involved in shooting sports, and teaches layperson classes about trauma first aid.
