Dr. Chris Bickett

Chris Bickett, MD, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His medical interests include wilderness medicine, resource-limited medicine, aerospace medicine, and education. 

Originally from South Dakota, he went to the United States Naval Academy where he earned a B.S. in physics. He then spent about eight years in the United States Marine Corps. During his time in the Marines, he visited Iraq and Afghanistan and had the chance to live in England for three years. Dr. Bickett attended the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland for medical school. He then moved to the Pacific Northwest where he completed a transitional year internship, an emergency medicine residency, and an austere and wilderness medicine fellowship at Madigan Army Medical Center.

Outside of the hospital, he enjoys painting, weightlifting, tinkering, watching space launches, and trying to keep his two sons from constantly wrestling. He is married with two sons.
