Clayton Korson, MD, grew up in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and ever since leaving, he’s journeyed all across the United States. He went to undergrad at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo., then later spent a year doing human toxicology research for the EPA in Durham, N.C. He then matriculated at Creighton University School of Medicine where he spent time both at the Omaha and Phoenix Regional campuses. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, Penn., and then his fellowship training in Addiction Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Korson works clinically in both the departments of Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry, Division of Addiction Psychiatry, with the goal of improving care for patients suffering from substance use disorders in the acute and post-acute care settings.
Outside of work, Dr. Korson is a fitness enthusiast, participating in Brazilian Jiu jitsu and strength training and is always on the lookout for new outdoor adventures. Additionally, he enjoys reading, writing (with former publications on Kevinmd.com, STAT news, and Literally Stories), cooking, and hanging out with friends and family.
