Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine? I was looking for a residency program that would not only provide me with incredible training, but one that would support me far beyond the boundaries of residency. On interview day, I was blown away by the program leadership and residents who exuded confidence and kindness. Having a young family, it was also very important that we ended up in a city and at a program where my family would be equally supported, which is something the "Vandy Fam" prides themselves on!
Interests in emergency medicine: Street medicine, sports medicine, medical education
Five-year plan: I struggle to make a five day plan, but if I absolutely had to come up with one it would probably look something like splitting my time between academics and community allowing me to practice EM in various settings while still being able to mentor students and residents.
If not EM, what? I probably would have gone to school to become an audio engineer. I love to play music and I’ve been trying to learn music production on my own when I have a little free time.
Hobbies: Electric guitar/bass, playing video games, reading/listening to audiobooks, spending time with my wife, daughter, and pets
Random fact about me: When I was 17, I was invited to visit the White House.
