Drew Flansbaum, MD, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine in the Vanderbilt Department of Emergency Medicine. He has served as the group-wide quality assurance director and as an emergency department medical director with emergency medicine community groups before joining Vanderbilt Wilson County and Bedford County emergency departments.
Dr. Flansbaum grew up in Louisiana and earned an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Rice University followed by a medical degree from LSUHSC in New Orleans. He completed emergency medicine residency at UCLA/Olive View, including serving as chief resident in his final year.
During residency he met and married his wife and they moved to Austin, Texas where they spent five years before moving to Tennessee. On his days off he enjoys time with his wife and kids and watching college football.
