Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine: I was looking for a residency that would expose me to the full breadth of emergency medicine in a high-acuity, high volume environment. Before applying, I thought that Vanderbilt would be “too academic” for what I was looking for, but I was strongly advised by a mentor to apply here. I’m grateful I did. As I learned more about the program and met the faculty and residents during my interview, I immediately connected with the people: genuine, thoughtful and deeply invested. I was also drawn to Vanderbilt’s national reputation for outstanding clinical training and medical educators. On a personal level, my wife and I felt that Nashville was the perfect place for our family to begin our next chapter. I feel incredibly fortunate to be here and am proud to be a part of the team.
