Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine? VUMC Emergency Medicine’s Global Health work in Guyana was one of the first things that caught my eye, but I have been continually impressed as I learn more about the program. Ultimately, I chose Vanderbilt based on my interactions with the faculty and residents, everyone I spoke with not only struck me as a incredibly smart, passionate, and competent, but also as authentic and caring. I couldn’t imagine a better place or group of people to train with.

Interests in emergency medicine: Global emergency medicine, simulation, ultrasound

Five year plan: After graduating, I want to pursue fellowship and a career in academics with an emphasis in resident/medical student education.

If not EM, what? Probably still teaching English abroad.

Hobbies: Guitar, endurance sports, video games, travel, and studying languages

Random fact about me: I taught English in Japan for 2 years.
