Kaitlin Ray

Kaitlin Ray, MD, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is a native of Nashville and joined the faculty in 2022. 

She obtained her undergraduate degree at Duke University in Biosocial Health, and subsequently pursued her medical education at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. She completed her emergency medicine residency at Northwestern University in Chicago where she served as Chief Resident and completed the Medical Education Clinical Scholars Program. After residency, she served as an Assistant Program Director at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. 

Dr. Ray now serves as an Assistant Program Director of the EM Residency program at Vanderbilt, practicing in the main university emergency department as well as the VA. She also serves as Director of Undergraduate Medical Education and leads the Emergency Medicine Advanced Clinical Experience Course. Her interests include competency based medical education, learner feedback and assessment, and mentorship of trainees. 

Outside of medicine, she loves being outdoors and spending time with her family and miniature dachshund Hank!
