Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine? I remember leaving my VUMC interview extremely impressed. The program’s passion to train residents that are not only clinically strong but want to contribute to bettering the field in any way possible was evident in every conversation. Everyone I interacted with cared for the wellbeing and spoke highly of one another. I knew Vanderbilt EM was a place I was going to be appropriately challenged and where I could thrive.
Interests in emergency medicine: I am interested in global health, specifically the use of ultrasound to improve clinical decision making in resource limited areas.
Five year plan: By the grace of God, married with a beautiful kiddo on the way. I will be an attending at an academic or community center and planning my first global health trip to my home (Cameroon) country to teach.
If not EM, what? I would work in a bakery, the process of creating something yummy and beautiful that brings people joy would be great.
Random fact about me: I despised cheese when I first came to America. I had pizza on the plane, and I did not like it. Now I grate like half a pound of cheese on my pasta.
