Kitan Akinosho, MD, serves as a Sports Medicine Fellow, Emergency Medicine Attending, and Instructor in Clinical Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and attended medical school at Carle Illinois College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Originally from a small town in North Carolina, she attended Princeton University for her undergraduate degree in engineering and worked as an engineer prior to transitioning to medicine. Dr. Akinosho values compassionate care and community engagement, and her professional interests include operational efficiency, the intersection of tech and medicine, care of the athlete and team, event medicine, and space medicine.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys family time, watching sports, budget planning for friends, comedy shows, long walks, traveling/exploring new cities, and reading.
