Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine? I was impressed by the quality of the didactics and simulations, patient acuity and complex pathology, and the friendliness of everyone I met during my away rotation. It reminded me a lot of my home institution, but I was ready to leave my college town and experience life in a more urban setting.
Interests in emergency medicine: Ultrasound, social emergency medicine, global EM, simulation, and sports medicine
Five year plan: To be working in a hybrid community/academic position or traveling as much as possible through locums work
If not EM, what? If I weren't doing medicine, I would probably be in a role where I could continue helping others improve their health. My decision to pursue medicine stems from a longstanding interest in fitness and the musculoskeletal system, so I could see myself owning a gym and working as a personal trainer or a physical therapist.
Hobbies: Weightlifting, guitar, video games, pickleball, travel, trying new food, and spending time with my family, friends, and pets
Random fact about me: The only bone I have ever broken was from taking out the trash.
