Resident, PGY-1

Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine? The collegiality within the department and across the hospital at Vanderbilt stood out to me the most when I rotated here last summer. I was surrounded by residents, faculty, and staff who prioritized each other's growth and well-being, and I felt that extended to me as a rotator. Combined with the high volume and acuity seen across the adult and children's emergency departments, renowned didactics, unrivaled simulation curriculum, and excellent leadership and career development, Vanderbilt was the clear choice for me.

Interests in emergency medicine: Ultrasound, EMS, medical education

Five year plan: Work in a community-academic hybrid practice. Build/maintain my relationships with friends, family, co-residents. Travel with my partner.

If not EM, what? I’d probably be a firefighter and/or paramedic

Hobbies: Backpacking, golf, pickleball, weight lifting, watching sports, anything outdoors

Random fact about me: I couples matched with my partner in pediatrics, and we could not be happier with our decision so far.
