MD
Mitchell Gillard, MD, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He was born and raised in the small town of Elba, New York. He completed his professional schooling within the State University of New York system, attending undergraduate at SUNY Geneseo and medical school at SUNY Stony Brook. Dr. Gillard fell in love with Nashville while interviewing for residency and made the move south after graduation where he completed emergency medicine residency at Vanderbilt University.
While not working at the Vanderbilt regional hospitals or the VA, you can find him exploring new restaurants around the city or spending time with close friends and family. He also enjoys cooking (particularly a nice ribeye), traveling, and exercising. He believes nothing relieves the various stressors of a tough shift like a great workout.
