R. Scott Frankenfield

Scott Frankenfield, MD, MMHC, is passionate about community emergency medicine. Prior to joining Vanderbilt in 2019, he served as the medical director for three community emergency departments. In 2014, he was named the Envision National Emergency Medicine Director of the Year. 

Dr. Frankenfield completed his Master of Management in Healthcare through the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management in 2021. Now, with over two decades of clinical practice, he has transitioned to a hybrid clinical/administrative career serving as the Regional Director of Emergency Medicine. 

He is the proud father of five sons. In addition to all the wonderful activities his children are involved in, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and listening to 80’s hair band rock music.
