Rachel Nelson, MD, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and works as an attending physician at Vanderbilt's main emergency department and at the Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital emergency department in Lebanon, Tennessee. She is passionate about medical education and humanism in medicine.
Dr. Nelson was born and raised in Nashville and completed her residency training at the University of Rochester, where she served as chief resident.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and playing music. She and her husband are well-known for their hobby of making unique homemade ice cream flavors for their friends and neighbors in East Nashville.
