Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine? I was lucky to get a sneak peek of VUMC on an away rotation and immediately fell in love with the program. It was clear every resident here is family, and readily accepting of newcomers even as a visiting student. Additionally, the training here is exceptional. The attending physicians are eager and enthusiastic to teach, the residents take any spare minute to add in a learning moment (and were so knowledgeable often sounded like they were reciting from a textbook), and the patients brought in so much complexity. I knew VUMC would prepare me to be the best physician, educator, and human I can be.
Interests in emergency medicine: Pediatric EM, medical education, wilderness medicine
Five year plan: Currently I am interested in pursuing a pediatric EM fellowship. I would love to be able to work a hybrid schedule between academics and community. For now I am keeping my eyes wide open and hoping to soak everything I can from Vanderbilt to help me develop my passions in emergency medicine.
If not EM, what? Flying helicopters around the world!
Hobbies: Anything in the great outdoors: hiking, kayaking, paddle-boarding, biking, cliff jumping, rock climbing, or canyoneering. I enjoy sports and I am happiest on a beach with a volleyball. I spend as much time with my cat and always ready to join anyone on a dog walk.
Random fact about me: I played volleyball in college.
