Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine: Anyone who has lived in Tennessee for any stretch of time knows about Vanderbilt. My interest in Vanderbilt began when my fiancée moved to Nashville for her residency. However, my interest in VUMC was solidified after my rotation with EM. The faculty and staff always made sure my cohorts and I felt appreciated and wanted. They always made sure to answer all our questions and made us feel important and wanted. It also did not hurt that they fed us at every avenue.
Interests in emergency medicine: Deciding between global health or critical care, leadership, and teaching.
Five-year plan: In five years, I hope to be finishing up my fellowship and working in academic emergency medicine. I hope to be able to balance clinical work, teaching, and family. I hope to be an asset to wherever I end up.
If not EM, what? I would be a teacher/professor.
Hobbies: Working out, cooking, and I recently started teaching myself art (I'm not very good yet).
Random fact about me: I recently got certified as a personal trainer
