Hometown: Bartlett, Tenn.

Undergraduate: Rice University

Medical School: Vanderbilt University School of Medicine

Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine: As a medical student, I had the opportunity to experience this program firsthand and quickly realized there was nowhere else I would rather train. The faculty, staff, and residents who create the incredible "Vandy Fam" culture are truly second to none. I love caring for the patients of Middle Tennessee while training in a program that will challenge me, support me, and help me reach my full potential as an emergency medicine physician.

Interests in emergency medicine: EMS, critical care

Five-year plan: Complete residency and fellowship and then begin a career as a leader and educator working across academic, community, and pre-hospital settings.

If not EM, what? Park ranger for the National Park Service

Hobbies: Soccer, archery, hiking, fishing, hunting

Random fact about me: I once competed (and lost) in a national Scrabble tournament.
