Why did you choose VUMC Emergency Medicine? I had the opportunity to rotate at VUMC during my fourth year and immediately felt at home at this program. All of the faculty, staff, and residents were so kind and truly went above and beyond to provide exceptional patient care while also keeping education a priority for their residents and students. I knew if I trained at VUMC, I would receive some of the best teaching in the country and would come out of residency as a confident and excellent clinician. Plus, Nashville seemed like a fun place to live.
Interests in emergency medicine: Community emergency medicine, EMS, wilderness medicine
Five year plan: I would love to be doing community medicine up in the Pacific Northwest, splitting my time between urban and rural emergency departments. I also hope to start a family and get a dog.
If not EM, what? I would definitely be a chef.
Hobbies: Cooking, hosting game nights, hiking, pickleball, golf, trying new/local restaurants, and spending quality time with family and friends
Random fact about me: I have visited 16 national parks to-date (and hope to visit many more). I even spent my last summer in medical school doing EMS and search-and-rescue at Yellowstone National Park.
