Dr. Ti James

Ti James, MD, MPH, is an Instructor in Clinical Emergency Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She holds attending physician appointments at both Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., and Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital in Tullahoma, Tenn. 

As a native of Arkansas, Dr. James completed her undergraduate education at the University of Arkansas, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She subsequently received her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Ark. 

Dr. James matched at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for residency training in Emergency Medicine in 2022 and was honored to serve as Chief Resident during the 2024–2025 academic year. In her current role, she contributes to undergraduate medical education as a course director within the department. Her academic and professional interests include medical education, curriculum development, health advocacy, mentorship, and recruitment. 

Beyond her clinical and educational responsibilities, Dr. James enjoys travel, fashion, and culinary exploration.
